The online health and wellness portal HealthyDunia.com has announced the launch of the India Health & Wellness Awards 2014 (IHW Awards). The awards are aimed at recognising key players who have made significant contributions to the Indian healthcare industry. To be held on December 20, 2014, the IHW Awards would be supported by several organisations including the Delhi Medical Association, Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) and World Simulation Society (WSS).
The ceremony would be held at Hotel Hyatt Regency in the national capital and would be attended by several notable guests including Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan and Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, who are scheduled to be the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, respectively. The award ceremony will be preceded by Brainwaves Health Knowledge Summit that will highlight burning issues related to healthcare industry. The summit will bring together all stakeholders in the discourse under one umbrella.
According to the information on the website, there are more than 60 categories including those for healthcare delivery, doctors and clinicians, for which the entries would be kept open until November 10. The awardees will be selected by members of the jury that include renowned names from the healthcare industry, from company executives, doctors, to researchers, experts, media representatives, government sector and social leaders. The jury will be lead by Dr Sanjay Jaiswal, Head of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on health and family welfare.
An ambitiously and meticulously planned initiative, the IHW Awards 2014, is causing a buzz in Indian healthcare sector and is expected to attract huge participation and a wider media response.
