CHANDIGARH: To achieve the objective of creating a healthier society, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized a health check-up camp in Mohali on Tuesday. Over 300 villagers visited the camp.
“The main objective of the camp was to bring affordable healthcare and free health information to the community,” said Kamna Raj Aggarwalla, past chairperson, CII Punjab state.
Services pertaining to orthopedics, ophthalmology, gynecology and medicine were provided. The targeted population was from around 20 surrounding villages of Gharaun, Kharar, Kurali, Morinda, Bela, Chamkaur Sahib and Bassi Pathana.
“CII NR Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team would take the social development agenda to all nine northern states, including Punjab. In Punjab, we are involved with various social issues and have undertaken work in the areas of health, community development, women empowerment, providing opportunities to SC/STs and youth livelihood options, among others,” said Pikender Pal Singh, regional director, CII Northern Region.
